Beauty and the Beast at the Theatre Royal, Margate 2014
Following the incredible success of last year’s Cinderella, plans are already in full swing for this year’s magical pantomime at the Theatre Royal, Margate – Beauty and the Beast. Chorus auditions were held in May with over 65 children competing for one of the twenty four places on offer, scenery is already being constructed and costumes are being created for what promises to be the most spectacular pantomime ever staged at the historic Theatre Royal.
The good news doesn’t stop there though as heading the cast will be the hilarious RICKY GROVES, who is famous for playing mechanic Gary in BBC1’s EastEnders for nine years. Ricky has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, Let’s Dance for Sport Relief and most recently in the hit ITV show Splash! Ricky has performed in various pantomimes throughout the UK, and is thrilled to be spending Christmas in Margate “I can’t wait to perform at the Theatre Royal as it is the perfect venue for pantomime. Beauty and the Beast is a great story that will appeal to all ages, and I get to cause some chaos and mischief in the show too!”
Appearing alongside Ricky will be West End Star ROBERT RAWLES who lives in nearby Broadstairs and will be playing Dame Dolly Doughnut. Robert is delighted to be performing near his home town and has appeared in numerous pantomimes throughout his career as well as starring in the BBC1 sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.
Beauty and the Beast will open on Saturday 13th December and run until Sunday 28th December 2014. There are discounts available for schools, groups and families, as well as a special Early Bird discount on all tickets purchased by October 1st.
